Is Akismet marking your comment as spam? Akismat is one of the coolest plugins for WordPress to get rid of spam.
Sometimes you may realize that your comment is being filtered by the Akismet spam filter as spam, this is a known problem and there are several reasons for this. In which your prior comments may be included, some are marked by the administrator as spam, you use the keyword as a commentator name, you add an auto-promotion link to your comments and so on.
If you remember that I wrote a post some days ago, by commenting you can increase your feed readers up to 1000 ?? So finally I got some time and started adding comments to other blogs.
Before placing a comment, I place some point in my mind:
- No self-promotion
- No spam / unrelated text or links
- Meaning full comments
- Comments with at least 2 sentences or adding value.
While I started commenting on the regular blog, where I made the most comments, I found that my comments were not visible in the post, nor did I get a familiar comment that my comment is under control.
I logged into one of those blogs where I had the author’s privilege and found that the Akismet is marking my comments as spam.
These days I have seen that most comments in the Akismet spam folder are putting in. From regular readers and bloggers too. If Akismet is installed on your blog, be sure to check each comment before marking it as spam.
How Akismet comment spam blocker works?
Akismet mark any comment as spam in the following pattern :
- Swear words, Po*n words, Poke* words.
- How your comment was moderated by other blog admin earlier.
How to get rid of Akismet spam problem?
A simple thing you can do here is to add a comment to your friend blog and ask them to mark your comment as spam. If not, you can comment on many different WordPress powered blogs that receive fewer or fewer comments (hopefully they all use Akismet).
After adding 2-3 meaningful comments, leave the email to the administrator using the contact form and ask them to unmark their comments as spam. This is a slow process but very effective. I highly recommend not commenting on a very active blog that gets hundreds of annotations every day, because the administrator will not have time to filter your comments from the spam folder.
Alternatively, you can contact them using the Akismet contact page.
Here is the free template you can use (rename, email)
It is delighted with xyzdomain.com and I have noticed that my comments are being caught by Akismet as spam. I always leave actual comments and if you can help me fix this problem then I appreciate it. The email I use to use is what I used in this form. It is again: firstname.lastname@example.org
Thanks for the help!
